Aberbargoed to New Tredegar Cycle Route
Running for nearly 2 kilometres from Aberbargoed north towards New Tredegar, this route forms part of the developing network running the length of the Rhymney Valley.

Cardiff Bay Barrage
The Cardiff Bay barrage, although controversial when built, is a spectacular piece of engineering. Holding back a huge expanse of water that provides Cardiff with fantastic boating facilities and Cardiff Bay with its picturesque backdrop, the barrage also helps control flood risk from tidal surges and high river levels.

Peregrine Path
This cross border route straddling England and Wales largely follows the River Wye through the upper Wye Gorge and connects Monmouth and Symonds Yat East. Continue on a minor road and your can visit Goodrich Castle, while a walk up to Symonds Yat Rock is rewarded with excellent views, and during nesting season, a chance to see Peregrine Falcons.

Aber Valley Cycle Route
This multi user route runs for some 2.5 miles between two Station Terraces, one in Caerphilly and the other in Senghenydd. The route from Caerphilly has a number of interesting wildlife sites in the adjacent fields and woods before entering Abertridwr Heritage Park. From here the path crosses the site of the former Windsor Colliery and on into Senghenydd.

Port Talbot to Neath
Linking two of South Wales industrial towns, this route provides an excellent afternoon ride, and thanks to the main line rail stations located at each end, it can be tackled in either direction It can also be easily extended towards Swansea or up the Neath valley towards Glyn-Neath, almost entirely on traffic free paths.

Resolven to Glyn-Neath
Mainly following the canal towpath, this route offers a very picturesque walk or ride along the Neath Valley floor. Sections of the canal are being restored, and this combined with the reclaimed colliery sites provide an excellent wildlife habitat, while still giving an insight into the valley’s history.

Garw Valley
Starting at Bryngarw House and Country Park, this ride takes you along the line of the old railway up to Pontycymmer and Blaengarw. Uniquely to routes in this area, a section of the railway still exists, now in the hands of a preservation society, which helps to give visitors a much greater feeling of the history of the valley.

Caerphilly to Machen
From the fully urban environment, albeit with a bit of medieval history thrown in thanks to Caerphilly Castle, through housing estates, alongside a river and finally along an old railway, this route offers up wide contrasts in views and feel.

Bargoed to Parc Cwm Darran
Another classic South Wales valleys route, following an old railway and passing under numerous historic bridges before reaching Parc Cwm Darran, a typical and fine example of how the South Wales mining sites are being reclaimed and opened up for both wildlife and outdoor activities.

Ogmore Valley Trail: Aberkenfig to Nant-y-Moel
A typical South Wales valley ride following one of the many old railways lines. Very peaceful and with a level grade, and there are a number of route options linking in Bridgend, the Garw Valley and NCN 4.
