Porthmadog to Dolgellau via Barmouth or Trawsfynydd

With two route options that combined make a great circular ride, these sections of Lon Las Cymru take you through the heart of Snowdonia, and along some of the amazing Welsh coastline.
Taking the coastal route option, you get to see Harlech Castle, cross over Barmouth Bridge and travel up the stunning Mawddach estuary.
The inland alternative takes you past Trawsfynydd and through Coed-y-Brenin Forest, with stunning views of Cadair Idris and other Snowdonia peaks.
Be aware that the Trawsfynydd route option uses some forest roads, and so it is not suitable for road bikes with narrow wheels/tyres.
If you are particularly adventurous, why not turn both route options into one large circular.

Great route, especially as a circular. Stop for a few hours at Dolgellau for great food or a bit of musical culture at Ty Siamas the National Centre for Folk Music
